About us
The International School of Helsingborg has provided a truly international education at the Primary and Secondary levels since 1995. Today, we have approximately 750 students between 2 and 19 years of age, across all programmes. We are an IB Continuum school, delivering the International Baccalaureate curriculum for all program levels. English is the primary language of learning at the school.

Job description
We have created a new role in our team! In this role your primary responsibilities include creating a safe and calm school environment where our students can learn and where staff feel supported by you. You work preventatively with, eg. mapping and analyzing risks in the school environment creating actions ensuring that the risks don’t become a reality. You work promotionally, by eg. building positive relationships with the students and implementing activities according to our yearly clock. You also work reactively, addressing situations that arise in the student body by following our routines and working collaboratively with your colleagues. You work closely with students, mentors, leadership, parents and outside stakeholders, and you are a part of the school’s student welfare and safeguarding teams. As we share our campus with Olympiaskolan, you will be collaborating with this school as well on safeguarding matters.
Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Building positive relationships: establishing and maintaining trusting and positive relationships with students, staff, leadership, parents and outside stakeholders such as BUPand the social services.
- Create safe environments and support positive student interactions.
- Promoting healthy attendance: tracking attendance, investigating absences, supporting students with problematic attendance. Collaborating with the student welfare team (SWT), students, parents, mentors.
- Supporting students in their school situation and with their wellbeing.
- Managing conflict: managing and preventing behavioral issues or social conflicts. Investigating, documenting, collaborating with mentors, leadership, and SWT.
Supporting teachers and leadership in their work with our students
Qualifications
You possess a social pedagogue degree. You have 5 years experience working in this role in a middle school. You must be fluent in English as this is our working language.
You are a strong team player and have the ability to work collaboratively with students, colleagues, parents and outside stakeholders. You communicate proactively; you support and care for others. It will be of great advantage to have experience of the IB MYP and also to have previously worked within the international school system.
As a person, you are a positive, open-minded and flexible team player. You must demonstrate enthusiasm, warmth and strong interpersonal skills with children, parents, and colleagues and be committed to diversity and multicultural educational practices.
