Helsingborg establishes an innovation center
The city of Helsingborg is ready for the next step in its development journey. Now it is time to take the lessons learned from H22 and the innovation initiative further.
The welfare challenges that the city faces need to be seen with fresh eyes to find new and improved solutions. Therefore, a new department has been established in the city as an innovation centre.
A place where new initiatives can come to life
Why an innovation centre? The innovation centre will be in the newly established innovation district in Oceanhamnen. It will be a physical meeting place for innovation and collaboration, not only for creativity but also a space for meetings, lectures, and workshops. Helsingborg City wants to engage with academia, business, and other cities to actively participate in the new innovations.
”We will strengthen our innovation capacity by developing collaborative innovation work within the city to find new solutions to our welfare challenges together with other actors. We are bringing this work together in an innovation centre located in the innovation district of Oceanhamnen,” says Lisa Olsson, Innovation Director and responsible for the Innovation centre in the city.
This is how we solve future welfare challenges
”The increasing expectations placed on us as a city and the complex societal challenges we face, such as security, employment, climate, and healthcare, cannot be solved solely by developing and optimising what we are already doing today. We also need to transform ourselves and use innovation as a means to find fundamentally different working methods and solutions so that people can deliver the same and better quality in the future,” explains Lisa Olsson.
”We will also continue working with the approaches and processes developed during H22, such as processes for how the city can act as a testbed for new solutions. We will continue to collaborate with businesses, associations, residents, and academia in new types of partnerships to solve future challenges, and we will continue to work systematically with innovation within our departments and companies.”
